From this particular character's view...yes, that would solidly include humans. (And whether or not the composer wrote this with that in mind.../I/ think humans are very strange creatures.)
To be strange is better than to be...what was the word? Mediocrity? ;) and of course, being made in the image of God makes a very large distinction between us and the rest of the universe (we're special! Aha! Even though utterly corrupt at heart, we're special!). I heard someone say last week, "Animals are our brothers and sisters!", and I have resist the urge to retort, "No, they're not!". Because we're so clearly set apart from them.
Strange, strange creatures?....do they mean humans? ;)

DeleteYes, they are very strange...greatly evidenced by me. ;)
ReplyDeleteBut we were made by God, and in the image of God, so I can't complain. :)

Well, the song could be relabeled, "All the Strange, Strange Siblings" and you could present it as your family's theme song.
ReplyDeleteHaha, I might do that. ;)
